Offset Offset mortgages offer the ultimate in flexibility, combining all of your finances so that they work as hard as possible for you. The chart shows the features offered by each offset mortgages. A select few will allow you to offset a personal loan as well as your mortgage against your savings. Every offset comes with a savings account - the basic principle of these deals is that you offset your borrowings against your savings, and so only pay interest on a reduced sum. Some will also allow you to offset credit card borrowing - but not many. Most offsets are separate to your current account, but a handful will let you combine the lot, which could make sense as any money that you don't spend each month will also be offset against your borrowings. They all allow you to overpay on your mortgage each month and so pay off your homeloan early and potentially save thousands of pounds in future interest payments.
